Professor Abdul Mughanni, who played an important role in getting Urdu the status of official language in Bihar, passed away at a hospital in Patna.
Mughanni (or he spelt it Moghanni) was 70. Editor of Mirreekh, Mughanni had translated the Holy Quran into English apart from a famous work on Aurangzeb. The former Vice Chancellor of Mithila University was a crusader for the rights of Urdu-speakers all his life.
