A verse on Palestine: Faiz Ahmed Faiz’ Aye Arz-e-filistin فیض احمد فیض

Palestine
yahaaN par bhi gayaa arz-e-vatan
terii tazliil ke daaghoN ki jalan dil meN liye
teri hurmat ke chiraGhoN kii lagan dil men liye
teri ulfat teri yaadoN kii kasak saath ga’ii
tere naranj shaguufoN kii mahak saath ga’ii
saare andekhe rafiqoN ka jilau saath rahaa
kitne haathoN se ham-aaGhosh meraa haath raha
duur pardes kii be-meher guzargaahoN meN
ajnabi shah’r kii be-naam-o-nishaaN rahoN meN
yeh zamiiN par bhi khulaa mere lahuu kaa parcham
lahlahaata hai wahaN arze-e-filistin ka aalam
tere aaqa ne kiyaa ek filistin barbaad
mere zakhmoN ne kiye kitne filistin aabaad
Faiz Ahmad Faiz

فیض احمد فیض
As usual this verse is quintessential Faiz poetry. Can anybody provide the English translation? This Nazm bears the stamp of Faiz. The lines like saare andekhe rafiqoN ka jilau saath raha…kitne haathoN se ham-aaghosh mera haath raha’, ‘yeh zamiiN par bhi khulaa mere lahuu ka parcham’ and …the last two lines just entrance you. The effect of the word ‘naaranj’ is almost magical.
With Palestine besieged, Lebanon under attack from Isreal and the entire Arab world a mute spectator this spectaculr nazm takes you out of the abyss of frustration at the silence of Muslim World.
