Josh Malihabadi essentially a poet of Nazm had an excellent command over language. He is rich in vocabulary and passionate. Born in Malihabad near Lucknow in a Pathan family, Shabbir Hasan Khan Josh, was the grandson of Urdu poet Faqir M Khan Goya. For his strong anti-imperialistic views and his contribution to freedom struggle, he was awarded Padma Vibhushan. But seeing the plight of Urdu, he migrated to Pakistan. Though he regretted the decision. His Yaadon-ki-Barat is a unique biography-novel.

i really feel proud to be a Malihabadi where hazrat josh malihabadi was born . he put the face of our malihabad infront of the world . where ever i go i say to every body that i am from malihabad which is famour for delicious mangoes and hazrat josh malihabadi (a famous poet of urdu literature).we lost our josh but we can never forget him. he is always in our heart. thank you by mohammad waris khan (a native of malihabad)

josh malihabadi allama iqbal ke bad urdu ke sabse bade shayer hai. Josh sahab ke jaisa lafzo ka jadgar urdu shayeri me ajtak na paida huwa . Kuch nasl parasto ne tassub me josh ko framosh karna chaha par josh wo aftab hain jiski kirno ko koi kala badal rok nahi sakta. Josh zindabad
